Project pictures!

Thursday, 10/28/10

Today I sent MORE notes home to parents because students aren't doing their homework.  I was very upset that I had to use class time that was supposed to be for presentations to write notes home.

You NEED to do your work!  The project wasn't even something you had to do at home...IT WAS CLASSWORK!!!  So, that tells me that you were talking or playing when I gave you those two days to work on the projects.  Very disappointing!

Homework-Start thinking about your Science Fair projects.

Unexpectedly didn't switch today...

...because of Riverside testing.

I sent the projects to your teachers and I expected you to work on them in class and finish them for homework.  Presentations will be tomorrow!

I can't wait to see everyone sing and dance and perform their commercials...and whatever else you have in store for us!! :)

Wow! Does it stink in here or what???

Hi everyone!

I am sitting in the classroom working on our science lessons for next week and MAN does it smell horrible in here!!  I am secretly happy I wasn't here yesterday to put up with it (hee hee) :)

I have noticed that some of the ballons have begun to deflate which means they most likely will not re-inflate.  We will continue to watch those that are "growing" but the "dead" ones will be put out of their misery.  :)

Have a great weekend and see you Monday!

PS.  Start thinking about your Science Fair projects and what you would like to do.  We are going to dive into that topic once Investigation 4 is over.

I was a Busy Bee today after school!!

Look what I did!
I thought they needed something BRIGHT.  So, I went with white.  Not quite done yet...a couple more coats and they'll look great!  :)

Wednesday, October, 20

Today we continued the observations of our (smelly) project creating natural gas.

Here are what each represents (in case you forgot)
Sand-Sediment
Tuna-Dead fish
Lettuce-Dead plants
Water-Rain

We'll continue our observations until the balloons begin to deflate.  Until then, it'll smell in 307!!  :)

No homework today except 307 who needs to finish the lab write up and jigsaw questions.

Today was a fun day!  We made models of how Natural Gas is formed by creating a smaller version in 2L soda bottles.  Hopefully tomorrow we'll have some progress with the diameter of the balloons!

Homework (309,308, 307)
Read the yellow pages of the book, prepare for the 5 question quiz tomorrow.

310-We are still catching up, so now homework for you tonight.

Carlos S-If you are still out there-its too bad that you transferred!  You were such a great student and you will be missed by all!

Ketchup Day

Today was "Ketchup Day".

What is Ketchup Day?  Its a day where students can catch up on whatever they are behind on.  The students who were done with everything worked on an extra credit flip book.

Here is what they did:

Lab Write up for Investigation #3
Essay on what you learned from Investigation #2
Green Science book-Pg C25-C28, definitions for the seven words and numbers 1-3 on the "Wrap it up" section on page C28.

These assignments were from Thursday & Friday so if the student was absent, they were able to make up the work in class.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Today was a crazy day!

With all the testing going on, it was hard for everyone to complete the assignments.  If you were out for testing, here is your Science homework:

Page 20, #5,6,7

Do the lab write up for Investigation #3 (Borrow someone's if you weren't here)

Write a short essay about what you learned during Investigation #2 on looseleaf

Tuesday, Oct 5, 2010

Today I started a "No Homework" notebook where I will keep track of the students who did not do their homework each day.

The homework for all the classes is to make sure you have #1-3 from page 20 done in your notebook.  You will have time to do #4-7 tomorrow in class.

And don't forget about the notebook quiz tomorrow!!

I am a day behind. Oops. Sorry.

I am taking two classes at night at Roosevelt University and some days things slip my mind, like this.  Sorry peeps!

The homework yesterday was to complete 5a,b, and 9 if you didn't finish it in class.  Also complete the Renewable v. Nonrenewable Energy Sources part of the note taking organizer.  If everyone did their homework, then we'll do the last part together.

See ya later, alligator!

Thursday and Friday

We started Investigation #2 and are making great progress.  310 is a little behind due to homework issues, but they should be able to catch up by next week.  There is no homework for this weekend.  See you Monday!!
