Its been awhile since I posted...

Its been too hard to list the homework this past week because each class is doing something different.  Anyways, here are some highlights from the students who were permitted to complete the experiment.
Investigation 2: The interior of the Earth

We dropped a pebble into the container and timed how long it would take for the waves to go from one side, to the other.  We then related this experiment to an earthquake.

Using Slinkys the students learned about compressional and shear waves.

Tuesday, 1-11-11

Hi Everyone!!

Well, I was able to see most of you today and it was fun starting our new unit-Dynamic Planet.  Yesterday and today we talked about what we are going to learn in this unit, how it is related to the previous unit and we completed a pre-assessment on the overhead.

Tomorrow, we'll complete our lab-write up (only 309 & 310) and we'll start the experiment.  See you then!!

Reread the yellow pages and know all of the definitions for the vocabulary words.

Our "mercury" spill

Turns out it wasn't mercury.  If it was mercury it would have rolled up into little balls.  Thank goodness because the whole school would have had to be evacuated if it was!
